How to Use the GPA Calculator
Our GPA calculator is simple and straightforward to use. Follow these steps to calculate your Grade Point Average:

- Select your letter grade from the dropdown menu
- Enter the number of credits for the course
- Add the Course:

- The course will appear in the table below
- Repeat for All Courses:
- Continue adding all your courses
- Your cumulative GPA will update automatically
- Make Adjustments:
- To remove a course, click the "Delete" button
- Add new courses as needed to see how they affect your GPA
Let's say you have these three courses:
- Mathematics (4 credits) - Grade A (4.0)
- English (3 credits) - Grade B (3.0)
- Science (3 credits) - Grade A- (3.7)
Your GPA would be calculated as:
(4.0 × 4 + 3.0 × 3 + 3.7 × 3) ÷ (4 + 3 + 3) = 3.61
Understanding Your GPA
GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated by:
- Multiplying each course's grade points by its credit hours
- Summing all these weighted grade points
- Dividing by the total number of credit hours
The standard GPA scale used by most institutions:
- A = 4.0
- A- = 3.7
- B+ = 3.3
- B = 3.0
- B- = 2.7
- C+ = 2.3
- C = 2.0
- C- = 1.7
- D+ = 1.3
- D = 1.0
- F = 0.0
